![]() - 3" long, 1.5" diameter (or similar for metric users) inner-tube you can find this at your local bike shop, they will usually give you a punctured one for free. - 2L Bottle neck - 3" long 1/2" diameter PVC pipe - 2L bottle cap - Spring, for pushing the nosecone off - Paper towel tube - PL Premium This is probably one of the simplest of the more reliable recovery systems to build. Cut a bottle neck off just below the lip, so that it stays with the threaded part. Glue inner-tube onto the ledge with plenty PLP. Cut a piece of PVC shorter than the entire innertube/neck assembly by the depth of your bottle cap. Put two beads of glue around the end, and put that end down the inner-tube and into the neck. wait about 15 minutes, and then take off any excess glue that would block the threads or end of the neck, let dry. Glue the cap on backwards so there is a cup in the front (see picture), let dry, and glue your spring in, preferably with hot glue. Cut a paper towel tube in half, and then cut a piece of plastic (or very tough cardboard) the same diameter as the tube, and glue it into one end of the tube. Reinforce the tube with either epoxy, wire, or both. This will slip over the inner-tube assembly, and push the nosecone off. ![]() ![]()
